1. About NEET UG
  • The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study undergraduate medical courses in India
  • The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is held every year to enable aspirants to tie down admission to the top medical colleges in India.
  • NTA or the National testing Agency has taken up the responsibility to conduct the NEET exam.
  • All the prominent medical and dental schools offer the students, admission based on their NEET scores, barring AIIMS and JIPMER
  • An average of more than 1,00,000 students appear for NEET exam for which only 66,610 seats are available
  • These 66,610 medical seats are available in private, central and state-supported institutes under NEET.
  • This medical entrance exam is conducted in 10 distinct languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Oriya and Kannada.
2. Eligibility
  • The base age limit for all aspirants is 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
  • The most extreme age limit for NEET exam is 25 years for general category applicants and 30 years for reserved category applicants.
  • You can attempt this medical entrance exam any number of times till the age of 25 if you belong to general category and till 30 years if you belong to reserved category.
  • For general class applicants, an aggregate of 50% is required in 10+2 or any other equivalent assessment.
  • For OBC, SC or ST applicants, there is a requirement of 40% in 10+2 or any other equivalent assessment.
  • For SC-PH, ST-PH and OBC-PH applicants, a base total score of 40% is required in 10+2 or any other equivalent assessment.
  • For PH, PwD or Gen-PH applicants, a base total score of 45% is required in 10+2 or any other equivalent assessment.
  • You should have/ have had Physics, Chemistry, Biology, some other elective subject with English.
3. Syllabus
The NEET syllabus consists of the three prominent science subjects.

4. Paper pattern and question types
  • There will be objective type questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • The mode of the exam will be pen and paper based.
  • You will get 3 hours and a total of 180 questions to answer.
  • For each correct answer, you will get 4 marks. For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted as negative marking.
  • Out of the 180 questions, 45 questions each will be allocated to Physics and Chemistry and, the rest 90 questions will be allocated to Biology.

1. About AIIMS UG
  • Unlike NEET exam, AIIMS medical entrance exam is conducted online
  • The admission to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is taken through the AIIMS medical entrance exam only.
  • AIIMS, New Delhi is the responsible body for conducting this medical entrance exam and admission procedure every year.
  • Each year roughly 3,00,000 to 5,00,000 candidates appear AIIMS medical entrance test, while the number of seats are limited to just 1212
  • Those 1,212 MBBS seats are offered solely by AIIMS, which is spread over fifteen institutes of AIIMS, which are, New Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Raipur, Rishikesh, Guntur, Jodhpur, Patna, Nagpur, Bathinda, Raebareli, Gorakhpur and Kalyani
  • Unlike NEET, the language of this test is limited to English and Hindi only.
2.Eligibility
  • You must be 17 years old as on December 31st of the year of admission.
  • You should have English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects in your 10+2 or equivalent examination.
  • You must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam under the 10+2 plan from SSC, CBSE, ISC or any from a recognized board or university.
  • As a General category applicant, you should have scored a base total of at least 60% in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • As a SC or ST applicant, your base total ought to be at least 50%.
  • If you are still pursuing your Class 12 assessment, you are still qualified to apply for AIIMS. Your application will be considered valid once you provide the evidence of passing the said exam with minimum marks.
  • You need to have your registered adhaar card to be eligible to apply for AIIMS.
  • There is no restriction to the number of attempts to this medical entrance exam.
3. Syllabus
The AIIMS syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General knowledge & Aptitude and logical thinking.

4. Paper pattern and question types
  • There will be objective type questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, general knowledge & aptitude and logical thinking.
  • The mode of the exam will be computer based online exam.
  • You will get 3.5 hours and a total of 200 questions to answer.
  • For each correct answer, you will get 1 mark. For every wrong answer, 1/3 mark will be deducted as negative marking.
  • The language of the exam will be English and Hindi only.
  • Out of the 200 questions, 60 questions each will be allocated to Physics and Chemistry and Biology. The rest 20 questions will be allocated to General knowledge & aptitude and logical thinking equally.
